This week has been a wee bit stressful and this feels like the perfect remedy to ease the pain. Allow me to present: the green tea gimlet.
I'm digging this because tea cocktails are pretty much always de-lish-ious. It's unique but really pretty easy to make and because it's green tea I can feel all zen and healthy while drinking it.
Ya just need a little vodka, fresh lemon juice, and green tea syrup (which consists of a green tea bag, sugar and water. Done.) So special, so easy.
Whew. That was an easy re-introduction back to Bottom's Up Friday. I've got some AHmazing cucumber-lime vodka, which I think will work quite well in this instance.
Here are the numbers:
1 1/2 oz. vodka
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 oz. green tea syrup*
Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into cocktail glass and garnish with lemon wheel.
Green Tea Syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 green tea bag
Combine sugar and water in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Pour into container and steep tea bag in the liquid for 6-7 minutes. Let cool. Refrigerate until ready to use.
ahhhh.... feeling the zen... if you invented this cocktail and haven't patented it, you should.
thank you!
