I used to work in the wedding industry. I was the Assistant Director of Marketing for a bridal workbook company and before that I wrote for Oregon Bride magazine. I'd be remiss not to mention the fact that i've never been a bride-type girl. Didn't dream of it, plan it, or even really want to get married.
While that's still the case, I must admit to a wee bit of wedding fever. Part of my job was writing about the newest wedding trends, which meant spending a lot (waaay too much) time reading wedding blogs. When I came across images that I liked, I saved them for *ahem* future inspiration. It felt wrong yes, but I couldn't stop myself.
Now that I no longer need to spend my days on wedding blogs, I am going to share a few of my saved images and then be done wit it forever!
Okay, not exactly your typical wedding-inspiration type picture but beeautiful and striking color combo, yes? I thought so.
I found out what cabbage roses are and how much I love them...so full and dreamy.
Love empty birdcages! I really think they add so much awesome to any design element.
Now this picture makes me seem SO much more girly then I actually am. It's really just those pink ruffled shoes and the antique typewriter, I swear. ...Also, I like chandeliers.
Sweet, short dress handmade by my Portland girl crush Sarah Seven (I originally discovered and wrote about her for Oregon Bride)
Finally, the ring. I'm definitely not interested in a typical big sparkly diamond ring. I like the organic, handmade, rough look of this one (although I used to HATE gold bands, now I think they are classic and romantic)
GOD that feels good to get out of my system!! Now I can focus on the billions of more important/interesting things happening in the world. I am 100% sure that my quality of life will greatly increase now that I don't have to spend my days looking at (and writing about) everything wedding.
Goodbye wedding-only blogroll...it was fun while it lasted but we both knew this wasn't a forever type thing.
p.s. Sorry I don't have info about where these pics came from. I only saved them as images... if anyone knows please tell me and i'll put it up!
I love this way of saying Goodbye--plus the pictures are beautiful! I'm excited for you to start on your next adventure.

Thanks for the kind words. It means so much coming from someone whose writing I like so much (and a double x contributor to boot!) I am definitely excited (and terrified) to see what happens next...
